Pickering AE Champs!
The Durham Crusaders had a successful weekend in the Pickering Thaw AE tournament going undefeated to win the Championship.
On Friday the team beat Kingston 3-1 and then shutout Pickering 2-0. On Sunday, the Crusaders beat Peterborough 4-2 and came back to tie East Gwillenbury 5-5. Jackson EH had all 5 goals. The Crusaders finished first in the round robin with 7 points.
The Semi-Final game saw the Crusaders face Pickering again. The Crusaders came out hungry and took 4-0 lead until Pickering scored. The Crusaders added 2 more and fought off the Panthers to advance to the finals with a 6-1 win.
The finals had the Crusaders face East Gwillenbury again. Lewis G had a natural hat trick and an assist to propel the Crusaders to a 5-0 win and claim the Championship banner.
